My name is Crystal Jo. I love my life. I have a fabulous husband, Jason, and amazing family and friends. I love Snickers Ice Cream Bars, the color turquoise, cowboy hats, the Buckeyes, traveling and watching Ellen..she makes me laugh {and dance over my living room table}.
For me, photography found me. I think my whole life up to this point was a case of not seeing the forest through the trees. Throughout my childhood I kept trying (and succeeding a lot) to grab momma’s camera and play around with it taking pictures of everyone around me.
Eventually I grew up (although others will disagree) and went to The Ohio State University completing my degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies. After working in a mental health center and a few years in the technology field, I realized I had not yet found final destination.
In the 2007, I received my first DSLR camera (thanks to my lovely husband) and I was so ecstatic I cried. Shortly after, my brother asked me to shoot his wedding and I was instantly hooked. It was at that point that I realized this is what I should be doing. I know this is my gift… to capture and preserve these precious moments life gives us. I’ve never been more alive as a photographer. I believe my life is truly blessed. Because my passion is also my profession, I’m able to do what I love and harness that excitement when photographing both portraits and weddings.
